VTskills. Starting young

May 24, 2024

In VTskill project, we know that tomorrow’s SPV farmers are today’s students. It is in this spirit that on May 23, the University of Florence, the Chianti BioDistrict and the Tuscany Region participated in the “DEMO FARM DAY,” which was held at the Terre Regionali Toscane farm in Cesa (Arezzo – Tuscany).

The event aimed to show to future farmers, higher education, and vocational training students the new technologies available to the sector, ranging from drones and data collection, to 4.0 tractors and new safety requirements for operators, to new ways of managing biotic and abiotic stresses in vineyards.

Field demonstrations, a classic demofarm approach, were conducted to maximize student experience and enhance understanding of the value of new technologies. During this event, the VTskill project was presented to students and professors from high schools specializing in agriculture.

VTskill thanks Istituto Agrario Ricasoli and Istituto Omnicomprensivo Fanfani-Camaiti for attending the event and Terre Regionali Toscane for hosting it.
