At the beginning of April, we, as a partnership, attended VTSKills third in-person meeting. The meeting took place at Galliac in southwest France, at the IFV V’innopôle headquarters, in the heart of the Occitanie wine region.
During the two-day meeting, several topics related to the project, the challenges ahead in the coming months, and the results to be achieved were discussed:
How can the course’s teachings and themes be effectively conveyed to various stakeholders? How to set up tests and exams to demonstrate the skills acquired? How to manage micro-credentials? What tools are necessary to handle the challenging task of translating teaching materials? But also, how to constitute demo farms, and what characteristics should they have? How to make the transition from a demo farm to an e-demo farm?
Discussing face-to-face allows for a facilitated exchange of views, reduces distance, and puts one in a less intimidating environment, enabling one to work more efficiently and exchange ideas more fruitfully. And indeed some of the problems have been solved, while others have been addressed so that they can be seen in a new and different light. So our work continues (and soon we hope to be able to share its fruits with you) with even greater commitment.
During our stay at IFV, we were also able to see their fields, the way they are managed, the innovative machinery such as the electric weeding machine (XPower), and the experimentation carried out in the center. But also their micro-vinification system and the winery, and we were able to taste IFV wines! Not your classic meet indeed!
